During Treatment

what you’ll experience during a colonic treatment session

During a colonic treatment session, you lie fully covered on a massage table. I am present in the room with you for the duration of the session, controlling the water and doing slight holds so the water is able to fill up in your large intestine.

The amount of water used depends on your individual tolerance. Colonic treatment stimulates peristaltic contractions (wave-like motions) in the colon, and you will begin to release in the form of gas or impacted stool. If permission is granted, I assist the body to loosen and release by doing gentle belly massages on and off throughout the session.

Post-Treatment

what to expect after a session

Depending on the person and the amount of toxins in the body, a colonic treatment session may trigger some detox symptoms such as headaches, bloating and slight cramping. It is very important to replenish electrolytes by:

  • Drinking liquids without β€œnatural flavours” or dye, such as coconut water (no Gatorade).

  • Eating light meals free of animal products. Things like vegetable soups, salads, smoothies, steamed potatoes and steamed veggies are all good choices.

  • Taking a good quality probiotic to replenish good gut bacteria. I recommend Mary Ruth’s Liquid Probiotic.

  • Taking a hot, salt bath with essential oils and connecting with nature.

These are all good things to do for your body, mind and soul. I send all of my new clients an optimal bowel care support form that includes information that they can start to implement in their daily routine after their first session.
